Trails from Brzeziny and Cyrhla: what fits into one day
Two ways into the Tatras a few minutes from Murzasichle and four routes that fit between breakfast and dinner.
The greatest advantage of Murzasichle in summer is not hidden in the village itself but in what begins a few minutes away. Brzeziny and Cyrhla are two entrances to the Tatras, and you drive to them against the main tourist traffic.
Below are four routes our guests choose most often, with an honest estimate of time and difficulty.
Brzeziny to Hala Gąsienicowa
A classic worth getting up early for. The trail runs through forest, steadily upwards, to the Murowaniec hut and the open space of Hala Gąsienicowa with Czarny Staw behind it.
Count on about two and a half hours up and a little less down. The route does not require experience, but it requires fitness, because the climb is long and monotonous.
There is a way to save a good deal of effort: from Brzeziny you can ride a bicycle up the asphalt road towards Dolina Gąsienicowa. We deliver electric bikes to the guesthouse, so the hard part of the climb disappears.
Cyrhla to Kopieniec
Our suggestion for those who want a panorama without a full day of effort. Kopieniec is not a high peak, but it stands exactly opposite the main ridge, so the view takes in the whole range from Giewont to Świnica.
About two hours up at a steady pace. A route that also suits older children, provided it is not their first outing in the mountains.
Wiktorówki, Polana Rusinowa and Gęsia Szyja
The gentlest of the four and at the same time the one with the best ratio of effort to view. The trail leads through forest to the sanctuary at Wiktorówki, then opens onto Polana Rusinowa, from which you see the entire ridge of the High Tatras.
For those who want more, a short climb runs from the clearing to Gęsia Szyja. Anyone who does not fancy it stays on the clearing, and that is entirely enough.
This route works best with children and with people who rarely visit the mountains.
Dolina Małej Łąki
The option for a day when the weather is uncertain. The valley is wide, the trail comfortable, and if the weather breaks you will be back at the car quickly.
It is worth walking at least as far as Wielka Polana, from where you can see the surrounding walls. Beyond that the trails become serious.
When to set off
In July and August the car parks at the trailheads fill before eight. If you leave the guesthouse at a quarter past seven, you get a space and an empty trail for the first two hours.
In summer afternoon storms in the Tatras are the rule, not the exception. Plan so that after three in the afternoon you are already below the tree line.
- Leaving the guesthouse by 7:30 gets you a parking space and quiet on the trail
- Check the forecast on the TPN website, not in a general weather app
- Water: at least a litre and a half per person, you can buy more at the huts
- A rain jacket even on a cloudless morning
After you come back
Legs after eight hours on a trail respond best to heat. Our spa area is open daily from four in the afternoon to nine in the evening, so coming back after three you have it practically to yourselves.
Sauna, then cool water, then sauna again. The next day you feel the difference clearly.
